Puron Refrigerant |
|||
| New environmental safety requirements will make current air conditioner and heat pump technology based on R-22 refrigerant obsolete. | |||
In 2004, the Clean Air Act called for a 25 percent reduction in the supply of HCFCs nationwide. In the year 2010, no new equipment may be manufactured that uses R-22 refrigerant. This means that all R-22 based air conditioning sytems will be obsolete. Also in 2010 there will be a mandated 90% reduction in the production of R-22. This means the cost of purchasing R-22 will increase substantially.
If you have a R-22 sytem now is the best time to replace it with a Puron based system. After reading this page click here to review our current specials. |

| Cost of air conditioner maintenance and operation will rise for R-22-based systems. | |||
As R-22 is phased out the cost to purchase this refrigerant will increase just like it did in the automobile industry. In 1996, the production of CFC R-12 for automobile air conditioning was banned in the U.S. As a result, consumers who required air conditioning service on their cars and trucks were hit with a high price burden. Perhaps you know someone who faced this dilemma.

| Puron, a new refrigerant used in Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps meets environmental requirements. | |||
CFCs and HCFCs contain chlorine that damages the Earth’s ozone layer. This is why the U.S. government recently completed a ban on CFC’s and has now begun to phase out HCFC’s like R-22. A replacement for R-22, called Puron, was invented by Carrier and has been the refrigerant of choice since the mid 1990's. Actually, Carrier was the first air conditioning manufacturer to produce non R-22 refrigerant ![]() |

| Save on electric bills with high efficiency Carrier products. | |||
The more efficient your air conditioner or heat pump is, the less it will cost you to operate. The result is lower electric bills each month. The rating of efficiency for air conditioners and heat pumps is called SEER, or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. A lower SEER value means lower efficiency and more expensive electric bills. As of January 22, 2006, the minimum national standard was raised to 13 SEER. Currently, Carrier is producing air conditioners with a SEER value as high as 21 SEER which saves hundreds of dollars a year in cooling costs. To illustrate this savings: if you spend $500 per year to cool your home, a 16 SEER system will save you $285 per year over an existing 8 SEER system with a potential annual return on investment of 15% (better than the stock market!!).
Note: Currently, 13 Seer is the entry level for air conditioning efficiency. |

| Stop noise pollution and enjoy the quiet operation of Carrier units. | |||
Carrier products are the quietest available. Utilizing advanced air flow and fan design along with a compressor vibration isolator plate, Carrier has drastically reduced noise. When compared to others, Carrier is 4 to 10 times quieter! For instance, it takes four Carriers to equal the sound of one Lennox or one Trane air conditioner and ten Carriers to equal the sound of one York. |
|||
| Enjoy trouble-free operation with Carrier’s most reliable product line. | |||
In terms of reliability, Carrier air conditioners have the most trouble-free service record in the industry. These air conditioners are protected from extreme conditions with many safety features like standard high and low-pressure switches and filter driers. These features mean any unexpected problems are virtually eliminated. Finally, Carrier backs up their units with a ten-year compressor warranty. |
